Wilson Access Hire

About Wilson Access Hire

In November 2002 Tom Wilson noticed there was a gap in the market for a reliable aerial platform centre in the UK. Having hired truck mounted aerial platforms himself for many years he knew how important it was to have 100% reliability and excellent customer service and so it was on these foundations that Wilson Access Hire was built.

The first aerial platform purchased was a Ruthmann Steiger TK310 and Tom himself was the operator. Such was the demand for this machine that Wilson Access Hire swiftly purchased a second Ruthmann aerial platform and began to look for new premises to cope with the rapidly expanding business. As demand increased further, 35 metre, 45 metre and 53 metre Wumag aerial platforms were added to the fleet, along with a 4x4 35 metre Bison/Palfinger.

Over the past few years Wilson Access Hire have worked with some major corporations such as the BBC and Channel 4 but have also built up excellent relationships with a number of industries in which aerial platforms are a necessity – window cleaners, roofing contractors, telecommunication riggers and glaziers to name just a few.

The aerial platforms at Wilson Access Hire are manned by a team of highly skilled, IPAF trained operators making even the most awkward tasks safe and efficient. The team are also able to operate scissor lifts and self propelled boom lifts.

2008 should be an exciting year for Wilson Access Hire. The company’s headquarters are moving to a fantastic new purpose built site where there will also be the facilities to increase the popular IPAF training programmes. There’ll also be new machines, covering all aspects of aerial platform hire, including the most demanding and obscure of jobs.
